P. Donald Wishart
1935-2017
Philip Donald Wishart (Don) passed away on December 27, 2017 at the
River View Manor, Bath NB at the age of 82.
Born in Grand Falls, NB, January 16, 1935 he was the son of the late
Roy and Evelyn Wishart and loving husband to Shirley Wishart.
Don grew up on the Tobique River in Plaster Rock, NB and then moved to
Florenceville, NB where he spent 41 years working for McCain Foods
prior to retiring. He had a welcoming personality with a bright smile
and an infectious and jovial laugh. He also had a booming voice that
he used when he needed to make a point. Don loved the outdoors and
was an avid skier and appreciated living so close to BigRock Mountain.
Over the years, he could often be found taking part in fishing and
hunting expeditions. He also enjoyed playing and watching curling
whenever he could. Don was a very caring father and a doting
grandfather.
Don is survived by his son, Steve Wishart (Sarah Pacey) of
Florenceville-Bristol, NB; his daughter Nancy MacIsaac (John) of St
John’s, Nfld and his son Peter Wishart (Rebecca Wright) of North
Vancouver, BC as well as three grandchildren – Haley MacIsaac, Brett
MacIsaac and Addison Wishart. He is also survived by his brother
Robert Wishart (Sylvia) of Florenceville-Bristol, NB; and his nephew
Richard Wishart of Florenceville-Bristol, NB.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters Shirley
and Judy Wishart and his nephew Christopher Wishart (Kathy).
Respecting family wishes, a private service will be held at a later
date. In lieu of flowers, donations made to River View Manor or the
Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
The family would like to sincerely thank the staff of River View Manor
for their compassionate care of Don during his time there.
