Obituary of Owen Hicks
It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts, that we must announce the passing of Owen on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at the Sackville Memorial Hospital. Owen was 36 years of age.
Born on December 13, 1980 in Sackville, N.B., he was the son of Oakley Brian Hicks and Sandra Mary (Wheaton).
Owen was a lovable boy with a huge heart who always had a big smile for everyone.
Owen will be lovingly remembered by his Mom and Dad, Oakley and Sandra Hicks of Midgic, N.B.; his brothers, Brian Hicks and Jason (Natalie) Hicks; his sister, Christa Hicks (Jim); his nephews and nieces, Jaime, Joseph, Jarvis, Julianna, Tyler, Makayla, Brandon, Dylan and Taylor; his two great-nephews and three great-nieces; his many aunts and uncles as well as, by his second family at Rose’s Independent Grocer in Sackville.
Owen was pre-deceased by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville N.B. (506) 364-8188. Visiting hours will take place at the funeral home on Monday, November 13, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will take place on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at 2 pm at the Middle Sackville Baptist Church with Pastor Dan Basham officiating. The burial will take place in the Midgic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Owen may be made to Special Olympics New Brunswick, Greater Moncton Down Syndrome Society Inc. or to the charity of one’s choice.
