Oliver “Andy” Weir Stacey, age 83, passed away peacefully at Stratford General Hospital surrounded by family, on October 18, 2017. Born in St. Marys, on December 4, 1933, son of the late Bert and Ruby (Weir) Stacey and beloved husband of 60 years of Ann (Thompson) Stacey. Oliver worked at Hutton Transport for 40 years, was a member of the Stratford on Avon Shriners Club, and a faithful member of Avonton Presbyterian Church. Loving father of David (Jane) Stacey, Kim (Brian) Dundasand Daryl (Eileen) Stacey. Fondly missed by his grandchildren Erica (Chris), Lauren (Brad), Bentley, Stacey MacNeil (Stefan), Morgan, Natasha Bell (Mark), Brittany White (James), Travis (Brittany) and Tyler Carruthers. Special great-papa to Kiefer, Pierce, Genevieve, Sloane, Roman, Scarlett, Alexa, Jett and Colton. Survived by his siblings Verna Blacker, sister-in-law Doreen Stacey, Emma and John Carruthers, Laura Shaw, Carmen Stacey, and Audrey (Louie) Sanchez. Predeceased by his brother, Ray Stacey, and brothers-in-law Burns Blacker and Sib Shaw, mother and father-in-law Belle and Roy Thompson. Special thank you to the wonderful care provided by Dr. Gatfield, Dr. Schiedel, the nurses at St. Marys Memorial Hospital and the nurses in the Intensive Care Unit at Stratford General Hospital.
Funeral arrangements are not finalized at this time.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Stratford Perth Residential Hospice, Avonton Presbyterian Church, or a charity of one’s choice.
