“Olive Carry Johnston” former surname Coleman,
Née Fournier.
Born in Midland, Simcoe, Ontario, Canada on June 2nd
1933.
Passed onto our lord on December 5th 2017 at the age of 84
years, while residing at her comfortable hillside home on 9 acres that
overlooks the Petitcodiac tidal bore river valley amongst the
Appalachian Mountain Range at the mouth of the Bay of Fundy – Home of
the world’s highest tides in Hillsborough, Albert County, New
Brunswick, Canada.
At all times, whether she was in the company of or faraway
from, her heartfelt and unconditional love for both of her sons is
unequivocal. John Robert Srigley of Toronto, Ontario & Donald
Warren Coleman of Hillsborough, New Brunswick survive their
beloved Mother and hold her loving memory close to their
hearts.
She cherished all of her family immensely, for whom her love
is dedicated, unwavering and passionate. Olive is survived by brothers
and sisters Joan Biro of Riverside, California, Joel Fournier and
Carol Fournier both of Halifax, Nova Scotia
respectively.
Olive is predeceased by her Métis (Ojibwe –
Anishinaabe) Birth Mother Lucille Vallee of Victoria Harbour, Ontario
who also gave birth to 12 of her brothers and sisters, her blessed and
incomparable Mother that raised her Mary Fournier Née
Peltier of Raleigh Township, Ontario, her Father Walter Fournier of
Penetanguishene, Ontario, her husbands’ William Warren Coleman of
Toronto, Ontario and John Ian Johnston of Clydebank, Scotland and her
brothers and sisters; Albert, Loretta, Leo, Theresa, Jim, Patrick,
Stella, Rita, Lucy, Margaret and Walter.
Her nieces and nephews both living and deceased are very
special to her! Their combined energy represent the past and the
future. She loves them all and embraces their spirits as her angels,
who are the embodiment and continuum our family tree and the legacy of
her cherished siblings.
Olive had 14 brothers and sisters and grew up in very close
proximity to the monumental “Martyrs’ Shrine” church where
her Father Walter impeccably manicured the grounds and flower gardens
and the historical park known as “Ste. Marie among the
Hurons” that is a French Jesuit settlement in Wendake, the land
of the Wendat, near modern Midland, Ontario.
Olive Carry Johnston; A genuine people person who flourished
in the business world on many levels, who was an avid golfer, as well
as a fabulous cook and home maker. A petite, dynamic, loyal, well
spoken and highly intellectual lady, who appreciated both simple and
finer pleasures. Her adventures as a visitor and/or resident of,
included places such as; Scotland, England, Mexico, France, Florida,
Texas, Australia and New Zealand.
During our last living moment together I tucked her in,
turned on the cozy heating blanket, gently stroked the hair off both
sides of her forehead and said “I Love You Mom,” she replied
“I Love You.” – Donald Coleman
