Norman Dale Balan – September 12, 1941 – May 6, 2017 (age 75)

Mr. Norman Dale Balan of the Bluffton area passed away suddenly in the Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary, Alberta on Saturday May 6, 2017 at the age of 75 years.
Born in 1941 on a homestead west of the Wilsden Green District to John and Ruth Balan.
Norm was passionate about all of his collections, which included Hayes trucks and Suzuki’s. Norm loved to farm which included his Long Horns and Charlais, hauling hay from afar; the farther the better.
Norm owned and operated his own trucking and equipment company working for Gibsons Petroleum for many years. Then Norm went on to water and vacuum trucks and other heavy equipment.
Predeceased by his parents, one brother and two sisters Norm is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Louise, their two children; Shirley (Gerald) Grutterink and their four children; Kyle (Kelsey), Ryan, Trent (Tianna), and Lyndsey, Bruce (Shirley) Balan and their two sons Harley and Levi. Norm also leaves to mourn one brother and two sisters.
A Celebration of Norman Balan’s Life will be held from the Last West Community Hall on Tuesday May 16, 2017 at 1:00 PM with Reverend Deborah Laing officiating.
