MacKINNON (Fisher), Nellie
Margaret – Age 85, Blues Mills, Inverness
Co., formerly of Estmere, passed away on Friday, December 15, 2017, in
the Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital, surrounded by family.
She was a daughter of the late George and Vera (Oakley) Fisher of
Estmere.
She is survived by daughters, Vera, Antigonish; Rachel
(John), Blues Mills; Nellie (John Kay), Blues Mills; sons, Danie
(Cathy), Blues Mills; Johnie (Mabel), Scotsville; grandchildren,
Bradley, Allison, Derek, Allie, Darren, Jeffery and Mark;
great-grandchildren, Chloe, Avery, Reid, Ethan, Liam, Finley, Chyler
and Daxson; sisters, Catherine, Alice and Georgina. She was
predeceased by her husband, Moir; sisters, Judy and
Verna.
Nellie was a member of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian
Church, Whycocomagh. She enjoyed watching the birds from her
kitchen window, family time over a cup of tea, a fresh homemade
biscuit and her strawberry jam and she never turned down a chance to
go for a drive. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her
pride and joy. The family would like to extend a
sincere thank you to Dr. Susie Egar, Dr. John Ritter along with the
entire nursing staff of Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital and
Inverness County Home Care. A special thank you to Lori Ann MacDonald,
her comforting touch and support to our family throughout
Nellie’s illness will always be remembered.
There will be no visitation. A graveside service will be 11
a.m. Tuesday in Stewartdale Cemetery with Rev. Andrew MacDonald
officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made
to Central Inverness Palliative Care, St.
Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Stewartdale Cemetery or to the
Canadian Blood Services by donating blood. Arrangements are under the
care and direction of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Whycocomagh.
