Nancy Storry

STORRY- Mrs. Agnes Jeese (Nancy) Storry, age 94 years, passed away peacefully in St. Joseph’s Hospital on Sunday, March 19,2017 with her son Brian by her side. Nancy was born in Banffshire, Scotland on March 22, 1922, the daughter of William and Elizabeth Booth. Nancy immigrated to Canada with her family at the age of 7. She married Sandy Storry on November 19, 1942 in Fort William, Ontario after which they returned back to the Storry family farm in Rabbit Lake, Saskatchewan. In 1952 Nancy and Sandy returned to Fort William with their two sons Brian and Bill. The majority of her working life was spent with the Government of Canada, retiring as a manager in the Unemployment Insurance Division. She was a longtime member of Wesley United Church. Over the last 40 years Nancy enjoyed spending her winter months in Florida, playing and watching golf, following the Tampa Bay Lightning and tending to her rose bushes. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by her sons Brian (Barb) and Bill (Shela), her granddaughters Tracey (David Halushak), Lea Storry (Jason van Rassel), Alison Storry (Dale), Kyla Storry, Sara Storry (Devin Trefry) and great grandchildren Zachary, Mikayla, and Matthew Halushak, Aidan Storry Dimakis, Jaden and Lienna Storry-Trefry, cousin Jim (Judy) Thomson as well as by nieces, nephews and other relatives in Canada and Scotland. She was predeceased by her husband Sandy, sister Bessie Raitt, and brother Bill Booth. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Nancy Storry will be held on Friday, March 24, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in the Sargent & Son Funeral Chapel, 21 N. Court Street, with Rev. Doreen Lankshear-Smith presiding. A private inurnment will take place at a later date in the family plot at Mountainview Cemetery.
