Murray James Benjamin, age 66, of Gull Lake SK, passed away November 28, 2017 at the family farm. The memorial service was held at 1:00 p.m, December 4, 2017 at the Gull Lake Elk’s Hall. Murray is survived by his wife, Carole; his 3 sons, Travis (Carla), children Josh, Eric and Kale; Jeff (Shannon), children Hunter, Kyla and Landin; and Lance; his 2 sisters, Ruth and Irene (Les); brothers-in-law, Rick (Janet), George (Janine) and Mark (Darla); and numerous nieces, nephews, great-niece and great-nephews. He was predeceased by his mom and dad, Ralph and Effie, and his in-laws, Jack and Doreen. Murray was born in Gull Lake on May 26, 1951, and attended school in Gull Lake. He married Carole Vaughan on April 5, 1980 in Gull Lake. After graduation, Murray worked at Halburton, an irrigation company. His love for the farm brought him home and he has farmed ever since. He also worked on the side for Sorenson Contracting and Henderson Hail Insurance. Murray was a member of the Kinsmen, Webb Elks, Curling Club, Antelope Lake Regional Park Board and was a councillor for the R.M. of Webb. He also enjoyed hunting, baseball, football, golfing, curling, crib and hockey. He just loved watching his kids, and now his grandkids, do all their activities. Donations in Murray’s memory may be made to the Gull Lake Curling Rink, the Gull Lake Hockey Rink and the Gull Lake Baseball Diamond Committee.
