It is with sadness that the family of Murlene Spellman announces her passing, which occurred on Friday, October 20th, 2017, at the Dr. V.A. Snow Centre. Murlene was born in Halifax on July 31st, 1931; a daughter of the late George and Gladys (Ackerley) Burgess, and the loving wife of the late Robert “Sunny” Spellman. Murlene was an avid camper, enjoyed playing cribbage, and walking her dogs. She had a big heart for her friends and family. Murlene is survived by her daughter Sandra Arseneau (Frank) of Grand Bay, grandsons Trevor and Stephen Doyle, great-granddaughters Jenna and Brooke Doyle, brother-in-law Ronald Spellman (Lena), and sister-in-law Colleen Foster. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) with the funeral service being held on Tuesday, October 24th at 2 p.m from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time. Interment will take place in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Woodman’s Point. For those who wish, remembrances to the Saint John SPCA – Animal Rescue, or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
