Muriel Louise Locke
1925-2017
Mrs. M. Louise Locke of Grand Manan, NB passed away at the
Grand Manan Nursing Home, on Sunday evening, November 19, 2017. Born
in Seal Cove, Grand Manan, NB she was the daughter of the late Clayton
and Geneva (Harvey) French.
Louise worked in in fish plants, and the Grand Manan Nursing
Home, as a Nurse’s Aid for ten years, while raising her
family as a single mother. She was a member of The Seal Cove Wesleyan
Church.
Louise is survived by four daughters, Shirley (Paul) Brown,
of North Head, Mary Nell (Sandy) Flagg, Cathy Linton (Dennis Field),
of Castalia, Heather Lahey of Saint John, NB; two sons, Maynard
(Linda) Locke and Allen Locke of Grand Harbour; two sisters, Irene
Ingersoll of formally of Seal Cove, and Nellie Farnham of Fredericton;
fifteen grandchildren, twenty one great grandchildren, six great great
grandchildren, two sisters in law, Maude French, Connie Fleet and one
brother in law, Loren (Shirley) Fleet and many nieces and
nephews.
Louise is predeceased by her parents, her husband Gordon
Locke (1969), one son Phillip French, two brothers, Robert French,
Leslie French, and one great granddaughter Destiny Green, also her
daughter in law Marilyn Locke, and best friend Alice
Lomax.
Visiting will take place at Immanuel Family Church, on
Tuesday, November 21, 2017 from 7-9 PM. The Funeral service will be
held from Immanuel Family Church on Wednesday, November, 22, 2017 at
1:00 PM with Rev. Ward McComiskey officiation.
Louise’s family has requested that donations be
made in her memory to, Grand Manan Nursing Home Foundation, The Boys
& Girls Club of Grand Manan, The Lighthouse Church, or charity
of the donor’s choice.
