Muriel Huot – 2016

MURIEL LORETTA (COLE) HUOT
AUGUST 2, 1928 – DECEMBER 6, 2016
Muriel passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2016. She leaves to mourn the love her life and husband of 59 years, Marcel; her daughter Maureen; her “boys” grandsons Luke, Cole and Zachary; sister Eileen Guy (Dale) of Thunder Bay, Ontario; brother Bill of Brampton, Ontario, and many wonderful nephews and nieces. Muriel completed her Fine Arts degree in Music and was an accomplished musician. She shared her love and skill on keyboards with Maureen as a child. She was always at the ready to play the piano for family sing alongs and she played the organ for many years at Christ the King Church in Regina. Her faith was an integral part of her life and marriage and was a founding member of the Yorkton branch of the Catholic Woman’s League as a young wife. Earlier this year she was awarded her 55 year pin for continuous membership in the CWL. Muriel struggled with her health the last several years, and beat cancer with grace. The family would like to thank the EMS and Emergency Department of the Pasqua Hospital; the wonderful frontline staff who took such gentle care through many visits; the homecare support staff who allowed her to stay home, and most especially Lori, the nurse who ensured her passing with dignity and no pain. Funeral Mass to celebrate her life will be held at Christ the King R.C. Church, 3239 Garnet Street, Regina, SK, on Friday, December 9, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you choose to support the efforts of the Canadian Cancer Society, the Heart and Stroke Foundation or continuing research for Parkinson’s Disease.
