1938-2017
Muriel (Blackie) Smith of Brockway, NB passed away on July 17, 2017 at
the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Muriel was born in 1938 in Saint
John, NB, a daughter of the late George and Alberta (Hanson)
Dobson.
Muriel is survived by her husband, Albert Smith; her children, Ernest
Dobson, Daniel Dobson, James Dobson, all of Saint John, NB, Wesley
Smith, Fredericton, NB and Laurel Lee Smith (Ian), Brockway, NB; eight
grandchildren; five great grandchildren; her siblings, Margaret
Beckett, Audrey O’Brian, George Dobson (Carol), Harold Dobson
(Muriel), William Dobson and Mary Oney (Pat); a brother-in-law,
Richard Rulfe; her best friend, Brenda Libby (Robert), Nackawic, NB;
several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by siblings, Alice
Gibson, Edna Voutour, Dorothy Jackson and Judy Rulfe; her
parents-in-law, Albert and Edith (Blair) Smith; a sister-in-law,
Evelyn Arbeau and a brother-in-law, Blair Smith.
Visiting hours will be held at Swan Funeral Chapel, 1826 Route 3,
Harvey Station, NB on Wednesday from 5 to 8 pm. Funeral service will
be held on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at 2 pm from the funeral home
chapel with Rev. Hollis Clark officiating. Interment at Rockland
Cemetery. A reception will follow in the fellowship hall at Brockway
Union Church.
For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Muriel, the family
has suggested the Brockway Union Church.
