It is with great sadness that the family of Monty McBriar
announce his passing, which took place on December 3, 2017 at the
Saint John Regional Hospital, surrounded by family and friends. Monty
was predeceased by his parents, Jack and Fran McBriar of Saint John,
NB.
Monty is survived by his loving wife, Wanda (Clifford); and
his sons: Neil (Suzanne) of Nelson, BC, and Rob (Coralee) of
Passekeag, NB. Monty was a very loving grandfather to Talel,
Noah and Allie.
Born in Sudbury, ON on December 28, 1944, Monty spent his
childhood in High Falls, ON. He moved to Saint John, NB,
where he became a machinist/millwright, and made Quispamsis his home
where he raised his family.
Monty enjoyed his career at Irving Paper for over 35
years. He was a member of the Masonic Albion Lodge and was
an avid outdoorsman. Monty held his family and friends very
close to his heart. Monty’s positive outlook on life touched
everyone that knew him. He will be greatly missed by his
family and friends
Resting at
Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row,
Saint John, NB (634-7424), with visiting on Wednesday,
December 6, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. A funeral service will be
held on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at 2 pm from Brenan’s
Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Extension
Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to the Canadian Cancer
Society or a charity of the donor’s choice would be
appreciated by the family.
