1941-2017
It is with sad hearts and
love that we announce the passing of Monica Ramona Harris of
Fredericton at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on Friday,
January 27, 2017 at the age of 76. Born in Zionville, NB on January
22, 1941, she was a daughter of the late Oliver Richard Somerville and
the late Mary Ann Elizabeth (Moran)
Somerville.
Monica’s varied
working career includes employment with the Saint John Orphanage,
Victoria Public Hospital, Chalmers Hospital and City Motel.
Monica loved sports such as
baseball, hockey and wrestling. She was an avid horse racing fan and
she loved to cheer on her favorite jockey’s, Stephen and
Todd Trites.
She leaves behind two much
loved daughters, Jacqueline Sophia Maillet (Donald) of Australia and
Carolyn Anne Estabrooks (Christopher) of Kingsclear, NB. Monica is
also survived by a brother William Somerville of Astle, NB and by two
sisters, her twin Sonya Carter of Lincoln, NB and Sharon Woodcock of
Marysville; several nieces, nephews, cousins, an uncle and two aunts.
Monica will especially be missed by her five
fur-babies.
Aside from her parents,
Monica was predeceased by a sister, Rosetta Somerville and brothers
Oliver, Eldon and Bobby
Somerville.
At the family’s
request there will be no visitation hours. A service celebrating the
life of Monica Harris will be held from Bishop’s Funeral
Home Chapel, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton on Thursday, February 2,
2017 at 1:00 PM with The Rev. Richard Bowley officiating. Interment in
the Zionville Cemetery at a later
date.
Memorial contributions may be
sent to the Fredericton SPCA, Fredericton Women’s Shelter or
to a favorite charity of your
choice.
