Mildred Christine Harvie
1927-2017
It is with appreciation for a life well-lived that the family
of Mildred Harvie, loving wife of the late John
“Jack” Harvie, announces her passing which occurred
on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at the Saint John Regional Hospital.
Born in Lepreau, NB on October 15, 1927, she was a daughter of the
late Arthur and Mattie (Irving) Hughes and is the last surviving
member of her immediate family.
Spending time with her friends and family gave Mildred great
joy, and had a love for all God’s creatures, especially dogs
and other animals. A deeply religious woman, Mildred enjoyed reading
her bible and was very involved in Pocologan United Baptist Church,
and she made a point to help those in need by donating to various
charitable organizations.
Mildred will be missed by her many nieces and nephews, as
well as her church family and all those whose lives she touched during
her journey.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mildred was
predeceased by her brothers, Vernon “Lloyd” Hughes
and Arthur Hughes; and her sisters, Edwina “Winnie”
Fraser and Elizabeth “Betty” Farquharson.
