Tragically at Big Rideau Lake, Portland on Friday March 10, 2017. Mike Carty of Portland in his 73rd year. Beloved husband of Ginny (Eckweiler). Dear father of Jeremy (Mary Elaine) of Seeley’s Bay, Jennifer of Portland, Ryan (Ami) of Westport.
Survived by his sisters, Clare Legere of Kingston, Rita Caccamo of Thunder Bay, Frances (Edward) McMahon of Syracuse, Mary Carty of Elgin, as well as his brothers, Joe of Amherstburg, Bill (Beverly) of Mississauga. Predeceased by his brother, Msgr. Patrick Carty and his brothers-in-law, Harold Legere and Jack Caccamo. Fondly remembered by grandchildren; Michaela, Teresa, Kendra, Aleisha, Nick, Finnegan, Marin and Aubrey. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the SCOTLAND FUNERAL HOME, 27 Main Street, Elgin on Friday from 1-3 and 6-8. Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Columbanus Church, Elgin on Saturday morning at 11 o’clock. Rite of Committal, St. Columbanus Cemetery, Elgin. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations made to Elgin Lions Community Hall, Portland Legion Branch # 231, or the Westport Rideaus Booster Club – New Score Board would be appreciated by the family.
