Michael Robert Pitt - July 18

Michael Robert Pitt – July 18, 1946 – March 1, 2017 (age 70)

With heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Michael (Mike) Pitt, of Ponoka, Alberta. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and his many students. Mike is survived by his children, Stephen, Kevin (Lisa) and Ashleigh (Chris); as well as two granddaughters, Alysha and Kyli. Mike was a devoted father, grandfather and teacher. As an avid traveller, Mike explored the world and was fortunate to teach in Australia, an experience he cherished. After settling in Ponoka, he thoroughly enjoyed his time teaching at Alix Mac School, his second home and a place he loved. He committed his life to making a positive impact on the students he taught over his 40+ year career and will remain highly respected for his contributions in the community.
