It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Michael ‘Mike’ Kenneth James Hanson of Red Deer, Alberta, on Friday, February 24, 2017 at the age of 41 years. Mike was born on May 5, 1975 in Edmonton, Alberta. His passions were fishing, art and creating menus, and he loved cooking. Mike will be lovingly remembered by his parents, Catherine and Angus Elliott, and Kenneth Melnick; Mike’s son, River Roan-Elliott and his mom; Mike’s special friend and companion, Patricia of Red Deer, Alberta; and his grandmother, Kathleen Hanson of Edmonton, Alberta. He will also be sadly missed by his sisters, Leanne Hanson of Edmonton, Alberta; Kimberly Hanson of Lamont, Alberta; Alicia Thompson of Red Deer, Alberta; and his brothers, Timothy Hanson of Red Deer, Alberta, Byron Elliott of Lacombe, Alberta; Kevin Hampton of Edmonton, Alberta and Trevor Elliott of Beaumont, Alberta; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins and dear friends. A Service will be held at Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, 6287 – 67 A Street (Taylor Drive), Red Deer, Alberta, at a later date. Cremation entrusted to Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta. Condolences may be sent or viewed at www.parklandfuneralhome.com.
