Michael John Bowman – 2017

Bowman, Michael:
After his 4th valiant battle with his third type of cancer, our son Mike Bowman has departed to be with Our Father in Heaven. On June 14, 2017, in his 42nd year, surrounded by family, Mike surrendered to this long time disease.
Loving memories have been left with his parents Bruce and Rosemarie Bowman, sister Michelle Rhoades and her husband Don Rhoades, his nephew and nieces Rich, Allie and Jessie Rhoades, his cherished partner Jaime Pinkerton, his aunts and uncles Kurt and Lori Nielsen, Andy and Terry Goodwin, John and Toni Langdon, David and Cindy Rektor, Karen Rektor and many cousins, relatives and friends.
Mike was predeceased by his grandparents, Orville and Edna Bowman and Emil and Anne Rose Rektor.
Mike’s family will receive relatives and friends at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467 on Friday from 6-9 p.m. with parish prayers at 8:45 p.m. The Funeral Mass for Mike will be held at St. Anne’s R.C. Church, 268 East Ave., Kitchener, ON N2H 1Z4 on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at 10 a.m. with a luncheon following in the church hall. All are welcome to attend to celebrate Mike’s life journey.
As per Mike’s wishes, cremation will follow.
Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society are welcome.
Mike’s family extends their special thanks to Dr. Hubay and her team, and the many nurses of the Grand River Cancer Centre for their exceptional care and concern throughout Mike’s journey. Special thanks to the C.C.A.C. palliative team, especially Judy for her care and guidance.
