Obituary for Michael Luciw
With deep sorrow, we announce the sudden passing of Mike Luciw on January 25, 2017 with his loving wife Cathy by his side.
Mike was born in Winnipeg in 1946 where he resided all his life. He began his career as a draftsman with Manitoba Hydro where he was employed for 35 years, retiring in 2000.
Cathy and Mike were married 46 wonderful years. He was a devoted husband cherishing the life they created together. He took great pride in his home, yard and vehicles and puttering in his workshop.
His two pets Shasta and Sassy brought him many years of joy.
Mike and Cathy enjoyed numerous vacations including trips to Hawaii, Aruba, Barbados, Florida and Mexico. They loved their winter getaways to Puerto Vallarta, their summer retreat in Gimli and visiting family in Moose Jaw.
Over the years, they shared so many wonderful times with family and friends creating lasting memories.
Mike was predeceased by his mother Leona, dad John, brother Bill, sisters-in-law Kathy and Rose Marie.
Mike will be lovingly remembered by his wife Cathy; brother-in-law Lyall McQueen; many beloved nieces and nephews; aunt Jean and aunt Millie; numerous cousins; and dear friends.
A private celebration of Mike’s life will be held at a future date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mike’s memory to Cancer Care Manitoba.
A life well lived by a kind and gentle man.
