We regret to announce the sudden passing of Melvin Hall, 76, of Sydney Mines, on Wednesday, May 3, 2017, at home.
Born in Sydney Mines on August 13, 1940, he was the son of the late Thomas and Martina (Almon) Hall. He was a member of Holy Family Parish in Sydney Mines
Melvin worked as a coal miner for many years.
He is survived by his sister Ann (Joe) MacDonald, Scotch Lake, brother Billy (Theresa), North Sydney, niece Lisa Ann, and nephews Tommy, Brian and Steve.
He will be sadly missed by his dedicated friend Jimmy MacIntyre
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers Tom T. and Jackie.
Visitation for Melvin Hall will be held Friday, May 5, 2017, from 6-9 p.m. in J. M. Jobes Funeral Home, 635 Main St., Sydney Mines. A celebration of his life will take place Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Family Church, with Fr. James Oliver officiating.
