Bill McIntyre , 74, passed away peacefully at home in Spruce Grove, Alberta with family by his side.
December 25, 2017 we lost our beloved father, grandfather, uncle, brother, brother-in-law, cousin and friend.
Bill was born near Caron, Saskatchewan on October 8, 1943 to Joe and Cathy (McAra) McIntyre. He was the second of six children.
He was a caring and loving father to Rick (Lena May) McIntyre, Jean Cathy (John) Sapp, Edward (Selina) McIntyre, Linda Rose (Shane Stadnyk) McIntyre.
A wonderful brother to Louise (Carl) Reynolds, Frank (Mona) McIntyre, Katherine (John) Hoehn, Doug (Lynn) McIntyre, Robert (Charlotte) McIntyre. An amazing Grandpa to 11 grand children, 5 great grand children with numerous Aunts, Uncles , nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Bill was pre deceased by his parents Joe (1915-2001) and Catherine (McAra) McIntyre (1920-2003).
After completing school in Mortlach, Saskatchewan, Bill travelled to many communities in the Northwest Territories as a Hudson’s Bay manager, later becoming a civilian employee with the Canadian Armed Forces in Inuvik, Northwest Territories. Moving to Mabou, Nova Scotia to retire, discovering he wasn’t ready to retire he travelled to Ingenica, British Columbia as a store manager for the Ingenica Band moving on to Hay River, Northwest Territories as a store manager for the Red Rooster and then continuing throughout the Northwest Territories as a store manager for Co-Op Stores.
He then retired and bought property in Creignish, Nova Scotia. Separating his time there between his Daughters Jean and Linda.
Bill lived his life to the fullest. He was an amazing man with many skills, abilities, talents and hobbies. He truly loved the outdoors.
Thank you to the many doctors, nurses and Capital Health for their loving care and respecting Bill’s wishes.
Where ever Bill went he met countless people, made plenty of friends and impacted the lives of many. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Bill’s family will carry on with his wishes, there will not be a funeral service.
