McGarvey Marie – 2017

McGarvey, Marie
McGarvey, Marie – It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Marie McGarvey (nee Rowan). She slipped peacefully and silently into the loving arms of her late husband, Tony McGarvey (1997) on Monday August 14th, 2017 in Belleville in her 78th year. Loving mother to Tony & Elizabeth McGarvey, Angela and Dave McGauley, Breda and Steve Blazevic and John and Renée McGarvey. Beloved by her twelve grandchildren who brought her immense joy and pride, Conor, Emma & Rory McGarvey, Errigal, Mac & Rowan McGauley, Sophia, Iliana, Adria & Evangeline Blazevic and Ryan and Jocelyn McGarvey. She will be greatly missed by all her friends, especially her dearest friend and companion Larry Reilly. Marie was loved by her siblings, Birdie, Helen and J. J. (deceased), and Eamon, Theresa and Kay and their families. She cherished the time she was able to spend with them after her emigration from Ireland in 1967 with her husband and young son, Tony Jr. Marie celebrated her fiftieth year in Belleville this summer and was proud of the life she and Tony Sr. built for their family in Canada. The family is forever grateful to all her wonderful friends for all their support and help over the years, especially Margaret, Jane, Beth, Wilma and Maureen. Friends are invited to call at the Steele Funeral Home, Moira Street Chapel, 30 Moira Street West (613-968-2273) on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church on Saturday, August 19th, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at St. James Cemetery If desired, Memorial Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or any charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
