Obituary for Max Simmons
SIMMONS, Max D. L. – Passed peacefully away surrounded by his loving family at St. Clare’s Hospital on Saturday, October 7, 2017. Max D. Simmons, aged 83 years. Predeceased by his parents: Sgt. Max B. and Edith (Hicks) Simmons, and brother Wayne Simmons (1980). Left with many precious and special memories are his devoted wife of 62 years Doris (nee Ford); his children; son Robert Simmons and daughters: Ann Simmons and Michelle Evans (Colin); grandchildren: Rachelle Savard (Stephen) and Natalie Evans (Jeremy); great grandson Evan Savard; two brothers: Jerry Simmons (Marilyn) and Robert (Monty) Simmons as well as a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 73 Commonwealth Avenue, Mount Pearl from 2:00 – 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 10, 2017. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 from Barrett’s Mount Pearl Chapel. At Max’s request cremation has taken place. Interment to follow at a later date. As expressions of sympathy flowers are being gratefully accepted or donations may be made to the SPCA, Heavenly Creatures or to Emmanuel United Church, Charlottetown, Bonavista Bay Please visit www.barretts.ca to sign the memorial guest book.
