Maurice Wilfred Voelker, of Owen Sound, passed away surrounded by the love of his family, at the Grey Bruce Health Services, on Friday evening, February 10th, 2017, at the age of 81 years. Husband of Ruth Voelker (nee Hopkins). Loving father of Ted Voelker (Ellen), of Collingwood, Debbie Cunningham (Jim) and Bob Voelker (Nancy), both of Owen Sound, Tammy Cochrane (Dan), of Bognor, Ken Voelker (Linda) and Shelley Hooey (Paul), both of Owen Sound. Proud grandfather of 14 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 2 step-grandchildren. Maurice will be sadly missed by his sister-in-law, Shirley Voelker, of Listowel and his four nieces, Sandra, Brenda, Kelly and Pamela. Predeceased by his parents, Theodore and Laura Voelker and his brother, Ken Voelker. Maurice was the founder and operator of the Blue Water Driving Academy in Owen Sound and the surrounding area.
Friends may call at the BRIAN E. WOOD FUNERAL HOME, 250 – 14th Street West, Owen Sound, Ontario N4K 3X8 (519-376-7492) on Tuesday from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service for Maurice Voelker will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel, on Wednesday, February 15th, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Archdeacon Graham Bland officiating. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery. If so desired, the family would appreciate donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation as an expression of sympathy.
