HART, Maureen (née Baker) – Sara Maureen Hart, mother, leader, educator, problem solver, mentor, matriarch and special angel, died on Friday, November 17, 2017. A prolific and well-respected administrator who devoted herself to education, and to the Upper Canada District School Board (UCDSB) for more than 40 years, Maureen dedicated her life to children, and always put children first. All who knew Maureen felt her strong presence and enthusiasm, and were bettered by her thoughtful, fair, generous and inquisitive nature. Maureen, a true listener, believed that all are equal and all deserve to be heard and respected. Maureen touched the lives of so many, and will continue to do so through her adoring husband Terry, her four children Jordan (Rox), Jana (Chad), Joshua (Kris), and Jayna (Jay), her 11 grandchildren, Kennady, Kaden, Maia, Lydia, Isla, Audrey, Beckett, James, Acadia, Alex, and Eamon, as well as through the lives of the students, teachers and administrators who she inspired and to whom she imparted wisdom. Maureen’s kindness, gentle manner, genuine warmth and vivacious sense of humour will be so greatly missed. She always had a plan and could solve any problem. Maureen loved to bake, cook, knit, dance and laugh. She was a classic and elegant woman with a huge heart. In keeping with Maureen’s wishes, a private family service was held in the Chapel of the Wilson Funeral Home, 822 Pitt Street Cornwall. There was not a day when Maureen did not look forward to going to school to make a difference, one family at a time. Donations can be made in Maureen’s name to the UCDSB Champions for Kids Foundation. To honour Maureen, the family asks that you remember to laugh, ask questions, cherish moments with close friends and family, and put children first.
