It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Matthew Peter Leszczynski, 30 of Oro-Medonte on December 17, 2017. Matthew was born on January 15, 1987 in New Liskeard Ontario, the son of Nancy and Peter Leszczynski. He attended public school in Capreol Ontario, High School in Sudbury, Sault Ste. Marie and Barrie. He also attended Georgian College in Barrie. Matthew was a member of numerous Capreol and Sudbury hockey teams and had the opportunity to play for the OHL’s Soo Greyhounds for 2 years and was a high draft pick of the team. He was an avid fisherman and would routinely catch trophy sized bass. Matthew is survived by his parents Nancy and Peter of Oro-Medonte, his sister Amy Leszczynski (Corey Hastings) of Barrie, Maternal grandparents Eveline and Jim Rainville of Sturgeon Falls and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins as well as his favorite nephew Tristan MacIver. Matthew is predeceased by his paternal grandparents Fred and Hanna Leszczynski of Thunder Bay and also his uncle Mike Rainville who have welcomed Matthew with open arms. Family and friends will be received at ADAMS FUNERAL HOME, 445 St. Vincent St. Barrie (just north of Cundles Rd.) on Saturday, December 23, 2017 from 2 p.m. until time of Funeral Service in the Chapel at 3 o’clock.
