Obituary of Mary Maric
MARIC, MARY – With her family by her side at Allendale Long Term Care Facility, Milton, Mary Maric died peacefully on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at the age of 92. Beloved wife of the late Mirko (2007). Loving mother of John & his wife Elizabeth, London and Diane Maric, Norval. Loving grandmother of Megan, Vancouver and Michael, London. Loving sister of Zora Stankovic, Croatia and Ankica Raspudic, Bosnia-Herzegovina. Also survived by many relatives and friends in Canada, Croatia and Bosnia- Herzegovina. Predeceased by her parents Martin & Ruza Butigan, her sister Dragica Butigan and brothers Bozo and Miso Butigan. Mary retired from Vision Nursing Home after many years of service. She will be remembered for her love of living, generous heart, contagious smile, her determination and wise advice and her many passions, which included her daily power walks at the break of dawn and her mastery in the kitchen, especially her strudels. She is so loved and will be forever missed by her children, daughter-in-law, grandchildren, family and friends. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 20th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia. Prayers will be offered at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Stephen Savel on Tuesday November 21st at 1:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Roman Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to Canadian Diabetes Association, 940 Murphy Rd.., Unit 1, Sarnia, N7S 5C4 or the MS Society of Canada, 420 East St., Sarnia, N7T 6Y5.
