ELSIPOGTOG, NB – Regina Simon 81, of Elsipogtog
passed away peacefully at the Rexton Lion’s Nursing in
Rexton on Sunday, October 1, 2017. Born in Restigouche,
Quebec she was the daughter of the late Edward Metallic and the late
Jane (O’Keefe) Metallic. Before retiring, she was
employed as a Home Economics Teacher. Regina loved to visit
St. Anne de Beaupres and was an avid bingo player. She loved
knitting, reading, children and a good cup of
tea.
Regina will be sadly missed by her two daughters, Vivian
(late Edward), Maureen; three sons, Maynard (Gisele), Mardy (Theresa
Mae), Manuel; fifteen grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren and
two great great grandchildren. She will also be sadly missed
by many nephews, nieces and
Godchildren.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband,
Joseph Harry Simon; one adopted daughter, Merisa; three
sisters, Mary-Ann, Lillian “Lily”, Philomene
“Phyllis” and five brothers, Noel, Louis, Melvin, Edward,
Ronald “Ronnie” and Joe.
Visitation will be held at 43 Hill Street, Elsipogtog
beginning on Tuesday at 2:00 pm until time of the service. A
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at 10:30
am, St. Anne’s Roman Catholic Church, Elsipogtog.
The care she received at the Rexton Lions Nursing Home was exceptional
and greatly appreciated by the family. Arrangements are in
care of Thompson’s Funeral Home, Richibucto
(523-4252).
