Mary Margaret McVey
(November 26, 1950 – January 23, 2017)
After a strong and courageous battle with cancer, Mary passed away peacefully on January 23, 2017 at 66 years of age. Born November 26, 1950 to the late James and Joan Rowan of Metcalfe Ontario. Beloved wife of Carson McVey (his parents Bill McVey and the late Reta McVey). Loving mother of Andrew (Jessica McEvoy) and Melissa (Hari Ghuman). Dear Granny of Kennedy and Ethan McVey, and Priya and Lilly Mary Ghuman. Lovingly remembered by her brothers Robert Rowan (Joanne), Peter Rowan (Carolyn), the late Colin Rowan (Kim) and by many nieces, nephews and wonderful friends. Family will receive friends at the Russell Legion (24 Legion Lane) on Sunday, January 29 from 1-4 p.m. with a Celebration of Life at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations to the Foundation for Prader-Willi Research Canada (www.fpwr.ca/donate/) would be appreciated.
