Mary Jean I. Craig
Peacefully at the Cornwall Hospice on Wednesday, November 1, 2017, Mary Jean Craig (nee Martin) of Iroquois. Beloved wife of Leslie Craig. Loving mother of Karen Baker (Mark) of Greely and proud grandmother of Benjamin and Ryan. Sister of Gordon Martin and sister-in-law of Judith Cummings, Jean Caddy (Jim) and Grace Schnurr. Survived by step-brothers Edwin, Allen and Glen Hawkins and their families as well as several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Newton and Ruth Martin, her stepfather Harry Hawkins, her brother David Martin, her brothers-in-law Rand Craig and his wife Carol, Allan Schnurr and her sister-in-law Grace Martin.
Funeral Arrangements
Mary Jean chose not to have a funeral but left the following message. “I want to express my thanks to all my friends, family and extended family who have enriched my life by their love, friendship, wisdom and humour and especially to my grandsons Benjamin and Ryan who brought such joy into our family. And so, until we meet again, may God watch over you and keep you in the palm of His Hand.”
Cremation has taken place. A private family inurnment service will be held at Iroquois Point Cemetery. Donations to the Cornwall Hospice or the Canadian Cancer Society would be gratefully acknowledged by the family. Online condolences may be made at marsdenmclaughlin.com.
