August 6, 1921 – January 3, 2017
With her family by her side, Belle Trefry passed away peacefully in Calgary on January 3, 2017 at the age of 95. Belle is survived by her daughter Betty (Joe) Hearn; grandchildren Brett and Wendy (Mark); four great-grandchildren Allisa, Erin, Brooke and Caden, and three sisters Dorothy Von Niessen, Ruth (Maurice) Sangster and Marlene Daykin. Belle was predeceased by her husband Wendell and one brother Stanley Williams.
Before moving to Calgary in 2011, Belle was very involved at Alta Vista Baptist Church where she belonged to various groups and the choir. She supported many Christian organizations, enjoyed five-pin bowling and was an avid knitter. She was known for knitting toques for sailors. Anybody who knew Belle would say she was a sweet lady, and will be remembered for her generosity and kindness.
