Mary Barlett Franklin was born May 1, 1914, the second child and only daughter to Philip and Violet Bartlett. She was predeceased by her brothers, John, George, Tom and Herb. The family lived in the Matheson area for many years with Mary eventually finding her way to Toronto as a young woman. Marriage to George Franklin followed and her greatest joy was the birth of her daughter Doreen (predeceased). Through the years in Toronto she raised Doreen and purchased a home on Moberly Avenue which she lived in up until 2011.
