It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Frances McIntyre (nee Gleeson), who passed away peacefully at home on Nov 16th, 2017 surrounded by her family. She will be deeply missed by her husband of 57 years Bill McIntyre, her children Maureen (Bob), Louise (Rudi), Caroline, Scott and Sean; her grandchildren Greg, Oliver, Cailin, Owen, and Rhys; her sisters Margaret Swift (Len), Rosemary Timlin (Gerald) and Anne Currie (Bob); and by her large extended family and many friends.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, sister in-law, aunt and friend. She contributed to the lives of many with her years of volunteer service. Her many roles included President of the Maycourt Club of Ottawa, Coordinator of the International Y Fair, and member of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Cancer Society and the YMCA. She will be remembered for her generous spirit, her sharp mind, her strength, and her sense of humor.
Family and friends are invited to the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street (at O’Connor) on Saturday November 18 from 2-4pm and Sunday November 19 from 2-4pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday November 20, 2017 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 1758 Alta Vista Drive at 10 :30 am. Please join family for a reception following the funeral at the Hunt Club, 1 Hunt Club Road from 12:00 to 14:00.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Ottawa Hospital Foundation for lung cancer research in memory of Mary Frances McIntyre would be appreciated.
