It is with heavy hearts that the family of Mary Catherine
(Hourihan) Walton announces her passing, which occurred at the Dr.V.A.
Snow Centre on Saturday, October 21, 2017. Born on March 6, 1930, she
was the wife of the late Frank Walton and daughter of the late
Augustine and Marie (Kennedy) Hourihan.
Mary is survived by her sons: Edward (Cathy), Patrick
(Carla), Gerald (Theresa), and Leonard Walton; daughters Dorothy
Cummings (Joseph), Deborah Walton, Barbara Walton (Daphne), and
Heather Mackenzie (Doug); Brothers Frank (Eleanor) and Joseph (Barb)
Hourihan; sister Gertrude Sands, as well as many grandchildren,
great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Aside from her husband and parents, she was predeceased by
her brothers John and William Hourihan and sisters Cecilia Sands and
Theresa Tays.
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111
Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424) with visitation
on Tuesday, October 24, 2017, from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. A Funeral
Liturgy will be held in the Brenan’s Chapel on Wednesday,
October 25, 2017 at 10:00 AM. Interment to follow in Sacred Heart
Church Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances in memory of Mary
may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Canadian Diabetes
Association, or The Heart & Stroke Foundation. Online
