We, the family of Mary Monica Burrage, regret to announce her
passing on Wednesday, November 15, 2017, at Taigh Solas Nursing Home,
North Sydney.
Born May 4, 1924, in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the
late Daniel and Elizabeth (Connington) McIntosh.
Mary was a member of Holy Redeemer Parish, Whitney
Pier.
She is survived by her daughters, Rose Burrage, Sydney, Sarah
Wiebe, Rivers, Man., and Georgina Chiasson, Saint John, NB; sisters,
Theresa Byrne, Ont., Colleen Bonner, North Sydney and Shirley
Pemberton, Sydney; ten grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and seven
great-great-grandchildren; close family friend, Dubba.
Mary was predeceased by her husband, George Sr.; sons, Joe
and George Jr.; granddaughter, Sherry Oakey; sisters, Annie Stewart,
Jane Stone and Amelia “Dano” Baird; brothers, Thomas, John,
Clarence “Toot”, Joe and Angus.
A memorial service will be held at Sydney Memorial Chapel on
Tuesday, November 21 at 11 a.m., with Rev. Paul Murphy officiating.
Interment in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.
Memorials may be made to Charity of Choice.
