INDIAN ISLAND, NB – Mary Ann Brooks 91, of Indian
Island passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, January 15,
2017. Born in Indian Island, she was the daughter of the
late John Barlow and late Catherine (Johnson) Barlow. Before
retiring, Mary Ann was employed at a clothing factory in
Connecticut. She attended Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha Roman
Catholic Church in Indian Island.
Mary Ann will be sadly missed by her two daughters, Grace
Brooks of Indian Island, Imelda Brooks of Indian Brook, NS; one son,
John Brooks (Mary Jane) of Indian Brook, NS; twenty-one grandchildren
and fifty great grandchildren.
She is also survived by two sisters, Annie Barlow (Pat Acaro)
and Evangeline Sanipass both of Indian Island and many nieces and
nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband,
Alexander Brooks; one daughter, Rachel Augustine; one son, Raymond
Brooks; four sisters, Margaret, Rosie, Mary Jane, Rachel and four
brothers, Peter, Archie, Wilfred and Wilson.
Resting at her home at 33 Spruce Street, Indian Island
beginning on Thursday at 11:00 am until time of the funeral.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 10:00 am,
Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha Roman Catholic Church, Indian
Island. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
Arrangements are in care of Thompson’s Funeral Home,
Richibucto (523-4252).
