Obituary for Martha Janecke
Martha Janecke of Medicine Hat, beloved wife of the late Earl Janecke, passed away on Friday, September 15th, 2017 at the age of 95 years. Martha leaves to cherish her memory her sons, Larry (Betty) and Wayne (Jayne); her grandchildren, Jim (Brandy), Bob (Myrna), Steven (Ashley), and Krystal (Ryan) Martin; and seven great-grandchildren, Maxx, Miley, Axton, Keyley, Nash, Tate, and Manny; two brothers, Alvin (Carol) Eisenbarth and Bob (Carol) Eisenbarth; brother-in-law, Vern (Barbara) Janecke; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Martha was predeceased by her parents, William and Lydia Eisenbarth; her husband, Earl; her daughter, Sharon Janecke; two sisters, Klara and Emma; three brothers, Richard (Esther), Herbert (Lottie), and Fred (Edith); sister-in-law, Pearl (Sam) Becker; and brother-in-law, Vic (Nellie) Stephan. Martha spent many years as a homemaker and working on the farm. She was an excellent cook and loved to go on camping trips with her grandchildren. Martha also loved to play cards – Earl always said she was born with a deck of cards in her hands. She enjoyed travelling and bowling and was a member of the Veiner Centre since its opening. Martha will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
