Obituary for Martha Cecilia Schwendemann (Moser)
Schwendemann, Martha Cecilia – With sadness the family announce the death of Mrs Martha Schwendemann at the age of 84 years. Mrs Schwendemann passed away at Temiskaming Hospital following a brief illness on Thursday, December 21, 2017.
Born at Seelbach, Germany, Martha came to Canada in 1954. During her younger years in Germany, she had been very active in sports. She competed and won medals for skiing and running. She loved cross country skiing and had spent much time enjoying the trails at the Nordic Ski Club. Many will remember Martha from Rosa’s Deli in Haileybury where she worked for many years. Martha was also known for her beautiful flower garden. She was happiest when working in the garden. Martha had a big heart. She was a kind, caring person and very likeable. Her family was very important to her. She will be sadly missed.
Predeceased by her parents Theodor and Cazilia Moser; and by her brothers: Karl and Fritz Moser. Left to mourn his her devoted husband Georg whom she married 63 years ago. Missed by her children: Roland [Joan] Schwendemann of Callander, Bernd Schwendemann of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Sibylle [Joel] Acton of Grand Prairie, Alberta, Diana Schwendemann and Ingrid Schwendemann both of Haileybury. Fondly remembered by grandchildren: Rachael, Jessie, Joshua, Benjamin, Sarah, Elizabeth, Chad, Shane and Shawn; and thirteen great-grandchildren. Also survived by her daughter-in-law Catherine Prentice and her sisters: Gisela Ruf and Irma Schremp.
