Marlene Lorraine Dauphinee – 81, of
Kentville, passed away Friday, December 15, 2017 in the Valley
Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Bear River, she was a daughter
of the late Wilfred Laurie and Esther Jane (Riley) Thompson. She had
been employed with MT&T, working in offices in Bear River,
Middleton, Wolfville and Kentville, from where she retired in 1986
with 32 years of service. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers.
Marlene was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
She dedicated her time to her children, their spouses and her
grandchildren. She enjoyed knitting, game shows, CNN and U.S.
politics. She is survived by a daughter, Burnadette Bishop, Kentville;
a son, Laurie (Christine), Kentville; a brother, Dale (Sandy),
Edmonton; seven grandchildren, Mike (Melissa), Devin (Bailey), Dylan
(Krystal), Logan, Breanna, Bryce and Cole; a great granddaughter, Mia;
nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son-in-law, Gregory
“Tom” Bishop; two sisters, Patricia Thompson and
Dorothy Kingston; a brother, Gerald Thompson; her former husband,
Raymond Dauphinee; a niece, Keitha Crockett. Visitation will be held
from 7-8 p.m. Sunday, December 17, 2017 in the White Family Funeral
Home, Kentville, where the funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m.
Monday, December 18, 2017. Burial will take place in the Elm
Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill. Donations in memory may be made to the
Gideon Bible Society. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the
White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services,
Kentville.
