Marjorie “Midge” Evelyn Clarke
1922-2017
It is with
great sadness that the family of Marjorie “Midge” Clarke,
wife of the late Arthur Clarke announces her passing, which occurred
on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at the Saint John Regional
Hospital. Born on March 19, 1922 in Saint John, she was the
daughter of the late Arthur and Selina (Collier)
Baldwin.
Midge worked
at Sears for many years and was a longstanding member of the Pythian
Sisters and RCL Ladies Auxiliary. Her interests included
politics, her card club, summering on Kennebecasis Island and boating
on the Saint John and Kennebecasis Rivers.
Midge is
survived by her son, Paul Clarke and daughters, Patricia (Michael)
Demerchant and Dianne McAllister. She always had a very
close and loving relationship with her grandchildren, Daniel,
Jennifer, Rebecca, Elizabeth, Nigel and Jessica; as well as
great-grandchildren, Carter and Dillon.
In
addition to her parents and husband, Midge was also predeceased by her
sister, Anne (Gordon) Henderson and brothers, Arthur (Edith) Baldwin
and David (Lorraine) Baldwin.
Resting at
Brenan’s Funeral Home,111
Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Wednesday, March
29, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A Legion Tribute Service will
be held during visitation at 7:00 PM. The funeral service
will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Thursday, March 30,
2017 at 2:00 PM. Interment will take place in Fernhill
Cemetery.
For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Operation
Smile, Leprosy Foundation of Canada or a charity of the
donor’s choice.
