Marjorie Edith Duncan
1925-2016
It is with
great sadness that the family of Marjorie Duncan announces her passing
at Thomas Hall, Shannex, Fredericton, on December 12th,
2016. Marjorie was born on August 25th, 1925, and was the
daughter of the late Albert and Gertrude
Belcher.
For 69 years
Marjorie was the beloved wife of William Duncan, and they were
separated by his passing in November of 2014. She was also predeceased
by cherished daughter, Nancy (1998) and friend and son-in-law, Norm
(1985). She was also predeceased by several of Bill’s siblings and
spouses.
Prior or to
her marriage, Marjorie graduated from Ponds Secretarial School and was
employed by the University of New Brunswick. Together, she and Bill
ran their business, York Electric, for over 30
years.
Marjorie
will be very sadly missed by her daughter Carol, grandchildren Laura,
Catherine, Kari and Ryan, and great grandchildren Rebecca, Benjamin,
Maggie, Brody, Logan and Everly, as well as son in law Brian. She is
also survived by brother-in-law Bob, as well as sisters-in-law Ethel,
Barb, Louise, Janet and
Ella.
Marjorie was
a kind, loving and devoted mother, grand mother and great-grandmother.
During this very sad time, our family will find immeasurable comfort
in the memories she has left us with; our times at her home on the
Golf Club Rd and at Lake George, holidays, birthdays and all the
celebrations over the years.
We would
like to extend a most sincere thank you to the extraordinary staff of
Shannex for the wonderful care they provided over the past 6 years. We
would also like to thank her dear friend Nila, for her kindness and
friendship.
No
visitation held by request. The funeral service will be held at St.
James Presbyterian Church, Hanwell on Thursday December 15, 2016 at
3:00 pm with Rev. Wendy MacWilliams officiating. Interment will be
held at a later date. Contributions to the Fredericton Feed a Family
Campaign would be appreciated by the family. Bishop’s
Funeral Home 540 Woodstock Road Fredericton have been entrusted with
the arrangements.
