Passed away at Saint Thomas Elgin General Hospital onWednesday, July 19, 2017 in her 91st year. Born in Aylmer, ON on October 10, 1926. Predeceased by her loving husband Donald of 54 years. Also predeceased by her parents Harold and Susan Charlton, sisters Wilena and Helen, and brothers Ross and Lloyd. Much loved mother of Allene Scott, and aunt of Marilyn Benner, Barbara Hoecht, Catharine Currin, Dorothy Ingram, Linda Joiner, Ronald Joiner, Elizabeth Haddock, Douglas Charlton, Daniel Charlton, Jeff Charlton, Nelson Wylie, Fay Johnson, Ellen Westlaken, Grace Scott, Dean Scott, Glen Scott, Mark Scott, Wayne Scott, and Nancy (Scott) Jones. Marion worked as a medical secretary for Drs. Colquhoun, Poots, and Beveridge until she married Dr. Donald Scott. She worked as a mother, homemaker, and talented sewing instructor. Marion was kind and generous. She had a witty sense of humour and enjoyed pleasant conversations. Her many interests included sewing, decorating, reading, doing crossword puzzles, and spending time with her dogs and cats. Marion was loved and will be dearly missed. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the caring staff of the VON, Saint Thomas Elgin General Hospital, Mount Hope (London), and Chartwell Aylmer. In keeping with Marion’s wishes, a graveside service for immediate family was held on July 21, 2017. Donations to the Alzheimer Society of Elgin-St. Thomas, VON Elgin, Chartwell Auxiliary, or the SPCA would be greatly appreciated. Condolences at kebbelfuneralhome.com
