Marion (MacDougall) Fougere
1929-2017
Fougere, Marion (MacDougall) – Age 87 years, of Milford Haven
Home for Special Care, Guysborough, formerly of Boylston, passed away
on Thursday, July 20, 2017 in Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. She was
the wife of the late John Fougere.
Born in Hazel Hill, on November 6, 1929 the daughter of the
late James and Violet MacDougall. She attended the Hazel Hill School.
At an early age, Marion taught school in Fox Island and Phillips
Harbor, later, working at the Royal Bank in Halifax. After her
marriage, Marion lived in Hazel Hill for many years. Moving to
Attleboro, Massachusetts in 1962, she worked at the Foxon Company and
later Robert’s Ford. She retired in 1995, returning to Boylston, with
her husband, John.
She was a member of the Guysborough Hospital Auxiliary, the
St Ann’s Church Ladies Auxiliary, and the Boylston Curling Club. She
was an avid bridge player, belonging to several bridge
groups.
Marion is surviving by her two daughters, Violet Mooney and
Dianna Kingsford, both of Attleboro, MA; four grandchildren, Ryan
Mooney of Attleboro, MA, Jaime Taormina of Newfields, NH, Andrew
Mooney of Monson, MA , Matthew Kingsford of Haverhill, MA, and by her
two sisters, Margaret MacDougall of Hazel Hill and Helen Jerrott a
Resident of Parkland Estates, Halifax NS. She is also survived by 8
great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased
by her brothers James and William MacDougall, and her sisters Ann
MacDougall and Mary Morris.
A funeral service was held on August 5, 2017, at Sacred Heart
Church, North Attleboro, MA
A graveside service and burial with be held in St.
Ann’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, Guysborough on Friday, August 18, 2017
at 11 a.m. with Father Callistus Abazie
officiating.
