FOREMAN, Marion “Ducky” Georgina (LaViolette) – With heavy
hearts, the family of Marion Foreman sadly wishes to announce that
their beloved Marion has passed away. After a brief illness the family
matriarch died peacefully in her sleep at 8:40 am. on Nov. 17, with
family and loved ones at her bedside. She was predeceased by her
husband William (1991). She is survived by her children Lloyd (Lynn),
Wanda (Bill), and Scott (Louann); also surviving her are nine
grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and two on the way. Marion is
survived by brothers Donald, Laurie, Gary and sisters Jenny and Joan,
all in Nova Scotia. She was predeceased by brother Dennis, and sisters
Madeline and Geraldine. She is also survived by brothers- and
sisters-in-law Ellen, Annie, Paul, Lillian, Nancy, Norma, Tom and
Marie in Ontario. She has numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces
and nephews in Nova Scotia, Ontario, British Columbia and the U.S..
Marion was born Jan. 8, 1939 to Reginald and Ethel LaViolette
(McAloney) in Halifax, N.S. She worked for the Niagara Catholic
District School Board for 22 years until retiring in 2004. Visitation
will be held at Patrick J. Darte Funeral Chapel, 39 Court Street, St.
Catharines (905-685-6584) on Monday, November 20th from 2pm to 4pm and
7pm to 9pm.. Vigil Prayers will be held at the funeral home on Monday
at 3:45pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary of the
Assumption Roman Catholic Church, 169 St. Paul Street, St. Catharines
on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at 11am. Rite of Committal to follow at
Pleasantview Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Fonthill. Memorial donations
to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Kidney Foundation would be
appreciated by the family.
