Marion D. Stephenson
Marion D. Stephenson, 93, of the Drew Nursing Home,
Sackville, and formerly of Golden Years Estates and Ammon,NB, passed
away peacefully at her residence on Friday, February 10,
2017.
Born in West Branch, she was the daughter of the late
MacKenzie and Jessie (Robertson) MacMichael. Marion was Principal of
Rexton Superior School from 1945 – 1951, and taught at
Moncton High School and Harrison Trimble High School until her
retirement after 35 years. She was a member of the Retired Teachers
Association and attended the former Stilesville United
Church.
Predeceased by husband, Harold, in 2009 after a happy 57
years of marriage. Marion will be sadly missed by sons, Michael and
Jack; granddaughter, Morgan; nieces, Margie Wilson and Barbara
Groundwater (Allan) and nephew, Donald Wilson (June
McFarlane).
No visitation at Marion’s request. A Service to
celebrate and honour Marion’s life will be held at Fergusons
Funeral Home Chapel, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on
Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at 3:00 pm, with Rev. Dr. Winston Parks
officiating. Reception in the Funeral Home Reception Centre following
the service. Interment, St. John’s United Church Cemetery,
West Branch in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Marion’s memory
can be made to the West Branch Cemetery Fund or the Drew Nursing Home.
