Marilyn Elaine Leier, age 73, of Swift Current SK, passed away November 18, 2017 at The Meadows, Clover House. At Marilyn’s request, there will be a graveside service held at a later date with Pastor Brad Julien officiating. Marilyn will be greatly missed by her husband, Kenneth, and son, Eugene; brother, Lawrence (Lillian) Feil and his sister, Margaret (Redge) Lopeter; sisters-in-law, June Feil, Antoinette Royal, Rose Crowe, Ollie Leier and Dee Leier; brothers-in-law, Donald (Joanne) Leier, Edward (Sandra) Leier, Thomas (Fern) Leier and Adam (Mardell) Leier; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Wanda May Leier; parents, Fred and Martha (Henning) Feil; father and mother-in-law, Thomas and Agnes Leier; sisters, Emma Ruf and Elsie Steinley; brothers, Wilfred Feil and Roy Feil; sisters-in-law, Irene Feil, Mary McGregor, Frances Kopp, Josephine Johns, Lois Leier and Irene Leier, brothers-in-law, Henry Ruf, Elmer Steinley, Roy Leier, Tommy Johns, Morris Crowe, Roy McGregor, Frank Kopp, Gordon Leier, Walter Royal, Arthur Leier, George Leier and Russ Leier. Marilyn was born on April 12, 1944, at Swift Current Union Hospital, to Fred and Martha Feil of Beaver Flat, SK. She was baptized at Peace Lutheran Church and confirmed at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church. She attended school at Beaver Flat, Rush Lake and Swift Current. Marilyn married Kenneth Leier on July 4, 1964 at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church. She worked at V&W Lucky Store for more than 25 years. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles – Ladies Club and Royal Canadian Legion #56 – Ladies Auxiliary. Marilyn worked endlessly in her park like yard and loved her flower and vegetable gardens until they moved to the Golden West Manor in 2011. After moving to the Golden West Manor, Marilyn was always ready to help out with all the activities of the home, and morning coffee! Many enjoyable hours were spent quilting with Irene and Sylvia at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church. She also volunteered for many church lunches and suppers. One of Marilyn’s greatest pleasures was spending time with all the young children in her life. Her travelling included several trips throughout the United States and across Canada with her sister, Marg and brother-in-law, Redge. Some of her favourites were Branson and Nashville. Donations in memory of Marilyn may be made to the Mount Calvary Lutheran Church. Warren’s Funeral Home were entrusted with the arrangements.
