Marian F. Giberson
1918-2017
Marian Fay Giberson of Holmesville passed away on January 12, 2017 at
the River View Manor, Bath NB. She was born on September 3, 1918 in
Bangor, Maine to the late Alfred and Margaret (McKay) Scripture.
Marian was also predeceased by her husband, Borden Giberson; 3
brothers, Kenneth, Alfred and James; 2 sisters, Alice and Janet.
Marian grew up in Bangor, ME and graduated from Bangor High School in
1936. She was the oldest of seven children and it was in her family
home where hard work and family values were instilled in her at a very
young age. In the fall of 1952, Marian married R. Borden Giberson, a
potato farmer from Holmesville, NB. They worked together on their
family farm and made it a safe and loving home for their daughters.
Marian was known for her delicious lunches that were delivered to the
crews working on the farm in the spring and fall. They arrived
mid-morning and mid – afternoon like clockwork.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda and Janet; grandchildren,
Claire and Spencer Hargrove; 1 brother, Donald Scripture; 2 sisters in
law, Joan Scripture and Bernice Giberson as well as many nieces,
nephews.
Respecting Marian’s wishes there will be no visitation or funeral
service. A private interment for her family and friends will take
place in the spring. For those who wish memorials to River View Manor
would be appreciated by the family.
Marian’s family wishes to thank all the staff at River View Manor for
their care and compassion towards Marian during her stay. A special
thank you to her friends, Penny Broad and Sonya Clark for all their
time and attention they gave our mother.
