Obituary for Maria Vomiero
Vomiero, Maria Lucia
Passed away peacefully, with her family at her side, on October 17th at Mackenzie Health Centre, at the age of 83. Beloved wife for 50 years of Luciano, loving mother of Robert (Maria Vomiero nee DiZio) and Gemma (Ashley Highton). Cherished nonna of Jessica, Stefania, Matteo, and Tomaso Vomiero, and Aidan and Lauren Highton. Dear sister of Angela DiMartino (Tony). Predeceased by her brothers Pasquale, Armando, and Mario Masciangelo. Maria will be fondly remembered by her sister-in-laws Mary and Dora, and her many nieces and nephews. Maria was a longtime member of the St. Padre Pio parish, and participated in the choir and the Catholic Women’s League.
Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 4671 Hwy 7 (west of Pine Valley Dr.), Woodbridge, 905-851-9100 on Thursday evening from 6 – 9p.m. and Friday from 2 – 4p.m. and 6 – 9 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Padre Pio Roman Catholic Church, 5500 Major Mackenzie Dr., Kleinburg on Saturday, October 21st, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
