MARGARET EVELYN WIERIKKO
Margie was born on December 8th, 1945 at Port Arthur, Ontario to Taimi and John Wierikko.
She was made a child of God through the Sacrament of Holy Baptism and having faithfully received the Body and Blood of Our Lord,
Margie was prepared for the journey to the Zion above and departed this life on the 21st of April, 2017.
Comforted in knowing that she is with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ are her sister-in-law Kellie and nephew
Andrew (fiancee Samantha Sutch). Margie is also survived by Uncles Ron Doynega, Chilliwack BC and Ron Lorenson, Ottawa.
Cousins Allan, Richard & Kenneth Idman, Len &Clifford Carlson, Kathy McDonagh and their families, as well as cousins and relatives in
Thunder Bay, Finland and the United States.
Margie was predeceased by her parents and brother Albert Wierikko, Aunts Eleanor Doynega, Gladys Lorenson, Florence Carlson,
Margaret Anderson and Uncle Tauno Anderson.
Funeral services for Margie Wierikko will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 27th at Bethel Lutheran Church 264 Wilson Street
officiated by Rev. Jamie Bosma. Interment to follow at Riverside Cemetery.
If friends so desire donations may be made to the St. Joseph’s Foundation designated to St. Joseph’s Hospital Inpatient Recreational
Therapy. Margie loved bingo, music & outings, and she loved Dana the Recreational Therapist who brightened her days in so many ways.
Thank you to the St. Joseph’s Hospital 2N nursing staff who took such wonderful care of Margie over the past 20 years, and
to Dr. Laakso for your excellent care of Margie during the past few months. You are all truly dedicated to your patients and we are forever grateful
Arrangements have been entrusted to Simpler Times Cremation Centre, 332 North May Street, Thunder Bay.
